ANITA anomalous events and axion quark nuggets

The Antarctic Impulse Transient Antenna (ANITA) Collaboration [1--3] has reported two anomalous events with noninverted polarity. These are hard to explain in terms of conventional cosmic rays (CRs). We explore a new possible explanation for these by suggesting that can be related the dark matter (DM) annihilations within so-called axion quark nugget (AQN) DM model. This model was initially invented completely different purpose: observed similarity between and visible components Universe---i.e., ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Omega}}}_{\mathrm{DM}}\ensuremath{\sim}{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Omega}}}_{\text{visible}}$---without any fitting parameters. investigate signal properties upward-going AQN events, including event rate, pulse duration, electric field strength, find them consistent observations. list several features distinct from CR air showers. observations (or nonobservation) may substantiate refute) our proposal.
